Shamli, September 4 (Daily Kiran) : In Shamli, artist Masoom Sharma visited the grieving family of singer Ankit Baliyan, who was tragically murdered. During the visit, Sharma assured the family of his full support. Ankit’s wife, Seema, expressed that their primary demand is the immediate arrest of the accused and strict action against them. She revealed that the family’s financial situation is dire, compounded by ongoing loans.
Sharma explained to the media that he had initially refrained from visiting due to concerns about threats he received. However, after discussions with local officials and those connected to the Baliyan family, he felt secure enough to meet them.
He empathized with the family, stating that losing a young family member is an immense sorrow that cannot be compensated. Sharma reiterated his commitment to help, although he did not specify the form or amount of financial assistance that might be provided.
Seema mentioned that while they discussed potential financial aid, the government has yet to offer any concrete assurances. She highlighted that the family’s burden fell solely on Ankit, and his death has plunged them into financial distress. Their foremost demand remains the swift prosecution of the suspects who are still at large.
Seema insisted that everyone involved in the crime, regardless of their level of participation, must face justice. She called for actions that would serve as a deterrent against similar future crimes, ensuring that no one could plot such schemes without fear of repercussions.
The family has also voiced concerns for their safety, noting that if Ankit faced violence while being innocent, it is natural for them to feel threatened. They are publicly calling for the arrest of the perpetrators and stringent measures against them, emphasizing the need for strict action against anti-social elements to ensure public safety.
