New Delhi, September 4 (Daily Kiran) : HarperCollins India has announced the upcoming release of Sonia Gandhi’s long-awaited autobiography, titled “Belonging: A Journey of Love.” The book is set to hit the shelves in India on November 10, 2026. This information was shared by HarperCollins India on their social media platform X.
The publisher described “Belonging” as one of the most anticipated political autobiographies of our time, offering a deeply personal narrative that explores themes of love, identity, duty, and belonging. It also promises to provide a unique perspective on India’s journey.
Previously, on August 28, Penguin Random House India declined to publish Gandhi’s autobiography, stating that they would not be the publisher for “Belonging.” The decision stemmed from the author’s refusal to accept editorial changes suggested during the publishing process.
Penguin Random House India emphasized that it is their responsibility to fact-check and advise authors for the best outcome of their books. They stated that they were prepared and willing to publish the book but would not comment further on the confidential discussions held with the author.
On August 20, Rahul Gandhi took to X to express his sentiments about the book. He reflected on the last time he saw his parents together over 35 years ago and praised his mother for her resilience in facing life’s challenges since his father’s passing. He expressed pride that her story would finally be shared with the millions who love her, acknowledging the difficulty she faced in sharing such a personal narrative.
