Ayodhya, September 4 (Daily Kiran) : Ayodhya’s religious community has rallied behind Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath‘s recent statement regarding the construction of a grand Krishna temple in Mathura. Mahant Dr. Deveshacharya Maharaj praised the proposal, asserting that a magnificent temple akin to the one in Ayodhya will soon rise in the birthplace of Lord Krishna.
Mahant Deveshacharya emphasized the resilience of Sanatan Dharma, stating, “For thousands of years, conspirators have tried to erase Sanatan, whether during the Mughal or British eras, but they have failed to touch it. Sanatan is eternal.” He highlighted that the essence of Sanatan Dharma is rooted in ancient traditions that promote harmony among all communities and religions.
Regarding the temple in Mathura, he declared, “Under the leadership of the Chief Minister, all saints and followers of Sanatan Dharma will unite to create a divine temple at Krishna’s birthplace, honoring the faith of devotees.”
He also addressed the recent comments made by Mahant Nrityagopal Das, president of the Ram Janmabhoomi Trust, who called for the swift construction of a temple in Mathura. Mahant Deveshacharya noted that while Maharaj’s health is currently poor, his spirit remains with Lord Krishna in Mathura.
Deveshacharya affirmed that Maharaj’s requests to the Chief Minister and Prime Minister for the rapid establishment of a grand Krishna temple will not go unheard. “We believe that by next Janmashtami, we will celebrate the birth of Lord Krishna in a magnificent temple,” he said.
In a separate matter, Mahant Deveshacharya responded sharply to actress Swara Bhasker’s comments regarding the controversial ‘jauhar’ scene in the film “Padmavat.” He criticized her remarks as inappropriate, stating, “Swara has played controversial roles in films and used offensive language. Her ideology disrespects Sanatan, and we can expect such behavior from her.” He added that discussing ‘jauhar’ does not befit someone like her, as it is a term associated with the valor of heroic women.
