Congress Leader Abhishek Datt Calls for Action Against Protectors of Criminals in Nishu Azad Case

New Delhi, September 4 (Daily Kiran) : Congress leader Abhishek Datt recently addressed the incident involving Nishu Azad at Jantar Mantar, alongside protests by the Citizens for Justice and Peace (CJP) and the ongoing controversy surrounding Mallikarjun Kharge.

On June 23, 2026, during a protest at Jantar Mantar, Nishu Azad’s father was assaulted, with the altercation reportedly stemming from a dispute over video recordings. In an interview, Datt remarked, “The rising crime rates in the country, especially in Delhi, clearly indicate who is promoting this violence. A person makes statements, even naming the Prime Minister. The PM should take notice and send a strong message. Criminals are being shielded by these individuals. When someone openly states that they should have been charged with attempted murder, what kind of message does that send to the nation?”

Turning to the Haldwani incident, Datt commented on Kharge’s longstanding political career, saying, “Mallikarjun Kharge has been winning elections for the past 50 years, starting as a student leader. The BJP cannot accept that the Congress president is a prominent Dalit leader. What has happened to him is unfortunate. I don’t expect much from the Prime Minister or the Home Minister in this matter.”

Regarding remarks made by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Datt criticized the BJP’s rise to power, stating, “The BJP came to power under the pretext of building a temple in Ayodhya. Under Yogi’s rule and the committee formed by PM Modi, there has been rampant exploitation in Ayodhya. Land, donations, and faith have all been misused for personal gain. The people of Uttar Pradesh will send a clear message to CM Yogi and PM Modi in the upcoming elections.”

In response to Yogi’s comments, Samajwadi Party MP Rajiv Rai suggested that the CM is in a state of panic, saying, “He is haunted by dreams of Akhilesh Yadav. A flickering lamp is struggling to stay lit. Someone who cannot win a seat on their own is advising others.” Rai further asserted that Yogi’s political future is in jeopardy across the state.
