
New Delhi, June 3: On the occasion of World Bicycle Day, Union Minister for Labour and Employment and Youth Affairs and Sports, Mansukh Mandaviya, made a heartfelt appeal to the youth of the nation to integrate cycling into their daily lives.
In a video message shared on the social media platform ‘X’, Mandaviya stated, “Today, I want to make a special appeal to the youth of our country. Make cycling a part of your life. It is not just an exercise or a one-day hobby; it symbolizes a powerful and healthy lifestyle. Cycling keeps us fit, energizes the body, and enhances mental health.”
He emphasized that cycling is the most affordable, beautiful, and sustainable means of environmental protection. Incorporating it into daily life can reduce pollution, save petrol and diesel, and benefit the nation. He referenced Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal, noting that cycling is an effective and positive solution to reduce dependence on petrol and diesel vehicles.
Mandaviya praised the ‘Sunday on Cycle’ campaign, part of the ‘Fit India’ movement, highlighting that millions of young people across the country are actively participating, turning it into a mass movement. He expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all the youths for their affection, support, and energy towards this initiative.
He announced that the upcoming Sunday would be dedicated to ‘Sunday on Cycle’ in honor of World Bicycle Day. He urged all young people to participate enthusiastically and encouraged them to register on the Fit India app and involve their friends and family.
The minister concluded, “On this special day, let us all pledge to make cycling a part of our daily routine and contribute to building a fit, healthy, and developed India.”
