New Delhi, March 28: Rajya Sabha member Manoj Jha of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) responded positively to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent virtual meeting with chief ministers regarding the ongoing crisis in West Asia. He expressed happiness at hearing the term ‘India’ being used after a long time.
Jha noted that since the formation of the ‘India’ bloc, there has been a reluctance to use this term. He emphasized that the Prime Minister’s call for a ‘Team India’ approach sends a positive message. However, he stressed that this sentiment should not remain merely verbal but must be translated into action on the ground.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Modi reviewed the ongoing conflict in West Asia and its potential impacts on India, engaging with chief ministers and lieutenant governors of union territories.
In addition, Jha commented on the arrest of former Nepalese Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli. He cautioned against making comments without complete information, noting that the new government in Nepal has only been in place for 24 to 48 hours. He asserted that any investigation should be conducted within the bounds of the law.
Congress MP Sukadev Bhagat also expressed concern over recent events in Nepal. He clarified that the situation is not merely a matter of political rivalry but is tied to ideological issues. Bhagat condemned any form of violence and expressed hope that political sentiments should not lead to revenge, advocating for a peaceful resolution to the situation.
