Kolkata, March 20: The political landscape in West Bengal is heating up as the assembly elections approach. With the announcement of election dates, various political parties have jumped into the fray.
The Bhawanipur assembly seat is generating significant buzz, not just in Bengal but also in Bihar and Jharkhand. This constituency is set for a high-stakes showdown between Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari.
Priyanka Tibrewal, the BJP candidate from the Entally assembly constituency, has asserted that Mamata Banerjee will lose in Bhawanipur, paving the way for Suvendu Adhikari’s victory.
Speaking in Kolkata, Tibrewal expressed her gratitude to the BJP leadership and the people of the state for nominating her as a candidate. She stated, “I assure you that I will live up to the trust placed in me by the BJP.”
Tibrewal criticized the Trinamool Congress (TMC), likening it to a private limited company where ticket distribution is based on financial contributions. She confidently declared that the lotus will bloom in Bengal this time, promising a victory for the BJP in Entally. “Bengal needs change, and we want a BJP government,” she emphasized.
In preparation for the upcoming elections, the BJP released its second list of candidates on Thursday, announcing the names of 111 individuals. This follows an earlier list of 144 candidates released on Monday. The assembly elections in West Bengal will occur in two phases: the first phase on April 23 for 152 constituencies, and the second phase on April 29 for 142 constituencies. The results will be declared on May 4.
