Jaipur, September 9 (Daily Kiran) : Rajasthan’s Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma announced on Wednesday that the state government, led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has been actively working to eliminate the issue of ‘Love Jihad’ throughout the state, including Jaipur. He emphasized the government’s measures against forced conversions.
During a grand roadshow supporting BJP candidates from Sanghneri Gate to Tripolia Gate, Sharma highlighted the introduction of the ‘Disturbed Area Bill.’ This legislation aims to prevent forced migration and assures residents that there is no need to fear.
Sharma criticized the previous Ashok Gehlot administration for incidents he labeled as ‘Love Jihad.’ He claimed that the current BJP government has enacted laws to combat forced conversions.
Referencing the ‘Disturbed Area Bill,’ the Chief Minister stated it was designed to enhance residents’ security and prevent forced migration. He warned that legal action would be taken against anyone who disturbs the peace, potentially leading to imprisonment.
Sharma also pointed out that the former Gehlot government had created two municipal corporations each in Jaipur, Jodhpur, and Kota, which he accused of being based on appeasement politics. He noted that the current BJP government has reinstated the ‘one city, one corporation’ policy in these cities.
In a jab at Congress leaders, Sharma remarked that they had previously asserted the BJP could not implement ‘one state, one election.’ He argued that the local body elections demonstrate the state government’s success in advancing the electoral process.
Under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, Sharma claimed that Rajasthan has seen continuous progress over the past two and a half years. He mentioned that several long-pending projects are now being expedited. Initiatives like the Ramjal Setu Link Project and the Yamuna Water Agreement are part of efforts to improve water availability across the state.
The Chief Minister revealed that ₹5,500 crores have been allocated for the Indira Gandhi Canal and Gang Canal projects. He also highlighted investments in multiple other projects, including the ₹10,500 crore Devas project and the ₹2,500 crore Brahmani River project.
Sharma stated that Rajasthan is moving towards becoming a surplus state in electricity. He noted that electricity generation has increased from 3,900 megawatts during the previous Congress government to 12,000 megawatts under the current BJP administration.
Regarding employment, he announced that during the BJP’s tenure, 189,000 appointment letters have been issued, with recruitment processes ongoing for 122,000 positions. He added that 70,000 more vacancies have been announced. The Chief Minister also mentioned that over 600 individuals involved in paper leak scandals from the previous government have been jailed since the BJP took office.
He claimed that approximately 450 exams have been conducted without any paper leaks during the current administration.
Discussing the Jaipur Metro, Sharma remarked that the previous Congress government had developed a network of about five kilometers. In contrast, the BJP government has expanded it to over 41 kilometers, which will significantly enhance traffic and public transport in Jaipur.
Sharma reassured party workers and representatives that their concerns would be addressed. He stated that the current BJP government remains connected to the people and actively listens to their issues. The formation of a ‘Triple-Engine Government’ with state and central administrations, alongside BJP-led local bodies and panchayats, aims to strengthen local governance and accelerate development.
