Lucknow, September 19 (Daily Kiran) : The Uttar Pradesh government has implemented a significant reshuffle in its police administration, resulting in the transfer of 35 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers. Alongside this, responsibilities for 31 officers at the level of Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) and Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP) have also been revised. The changes affect several districts and police commissionerates across the state.
Among those transferred is IPS officer Charu Nigam, who previously served as Superintendent of Police at UP-112. She has now been appointed as the Commandant of the 47th PAC Battalion in Ghaziabad, a position she has held before. Prior to her role at UP-112, Nigam was the Superintendent of Police in Sultanpur.
On August 20, she was transferred from Sultanpur to UP-112. Now, she takes on new responsibilities at the 47th PAC in Ghaziabad.
According to the transfer list released by the government, Shrawan Kumar Singh, who served as Deputy Commissioner of Police in Kanpur, has been appointed as Deputy Commissioner in Gautam Buddh Nagar. Pramod Kumar, previously Deputy Commissioner in Varanasi, will now oversee the Cyber Headquarters in Lucknow.
Ravishankar Nim, stationed in Gautam Buddh Nagar, has been assigned as the Commandant of the second SSF Battalion in Gorakhpur. Atul Sharma-1, formerly Deputy Commissioner in Agra, has been transferred to the position of Superintendent of the Intelligence Headquarters in Lucknow.
Similarly, Sonam Kumar, Deputy Commissioner in Agra, will now serve in the same capacity in Prayagraj. Ravindra Kumar, stationed in Kanpur, has been assigned to Agra as Deputy Commissioner.
Kumar Pandey, previously in Prayagraj, will now take on the role of Superintendent at the Police Headquarters in Prayagraj. Mamta Rani Chaudhary, Deputy Commissioner in Lucknow, has received a new assignment as Superintendent in CID Lucknow.
In addition, various police commissionerates and districts, including Gautam Buddh Nagar, Agra, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Lucknow, Kanpur, and Ghaziabad, have seen changes in the areas of responsibility for IPS officers.
Young IPS officers have also been given new roles, with changes occurring in districts such as Jaunpur, Firozabad, Chandauli, Unnao, Ayodhya, Kheri, Jhansi, Saharanpur, Bijnor, and Banda.
The government has also released a transfer list for 31 officers at the ASP and ADCP levels. According to the orders, Akhilesh Singh, the ASP (North) in Unnao, has been transferred to Hardoi as ASP (West). Subhash Chandra Gangwar, ASP (Traffic) in Moradabad, will now serve at PTS Moradabad. Mukesh Chandra Mishra, ASP (North) in Bareilly, has been appointed ASP (North) in Gorakhpur.
Other notable transfers include Nitesh Singh from Mirzapur to Gonda as ASP (West), and Radheshyam Rai from Gonda to Ayodhya as ASP (Rural). A number of officers have also been reassigned across various districts and units within the state, reflecting a comprehensive restructuring aimed at enhancing police efficiency and response.
The reshuffle highlights the government’s commitment to improving law enforcement in Uttar Pradesh, ensuring that officers are strategically placed to address the unique challenges of their respective regions.
