Beijing, September 19 (Daily Kiran) : China’s imports are set to reach unprecedented levels this year, according to a recent press conference held by the State Council Information Office in Beijing. An official from the Ministry of Commerce highlighted that China remains the world’s largest trading nation, consistently contributing to global trade growth.
The World Trade Organization (WTO) reported in July that China accounted for 2.1 percentage points of the global trade increase, representing 20.3% of total global trade growth in the first quarter.
The official noted that China’s comprehensive industrial system and robust supporting industries enable the country to supply manufacturing equipment and other industrial products to various nations, particularly developing countries. This support aids these nations in developing their real economies, enhancing their levels of industrialization, and integrating into global industrial and supply chains.
Moreover, China’s approach to increasing imports through both policy and activities has opened its vast market opportunities to companies worldwide.
Commerce Assistant Minister Zhang Li announced that from January to August this year, China’s imports surged by 22%, marking the fastest growth since 2021. He expressed optimism that the total import value for the year would reach new heights.
Zhang further emphasized that a significant number of high-quality global products are entering the Chinese consumer market and integrating into the country’s industrial and supply chains. This influx is generating more orders for companies from various nations, fostering development in their respective industries and creating more local job opportunities.
