Noida, July 18: The Gautam Buddh Nagar police have taken significant action to enhance women’s safety and combat human trafficking. On Saturday, a comprehensive inspection campaign was launched across several spa centers in the district. Under the direction of Police Commissioner Lakshmi Singh and the supervision of Deputy Commissioner (Women’s Safety) Suniti, a joint team from the Anti-Human Trafficking (AHT) police station and Beta-2 police station conducted simultaneous raids on four spa centers as part of ‘Operation Raksha’.
According to police reports, the primary aim of this special operation was to investigate the activities of spa centers, take effective action against human trafficking and women’s exploitation, and strengthen law and order. During the operation, the police team conducted an in-depth examination of the relevant spa centers’ documents, employee identities, operational systems, and activities.
During the crackdown, 28 women were safely rescued with the assistance of a non-governmental organization (NGO). All women are being provided with necessary safety measures, counseling, and other essential legal processes. The police are also investigating whether these women were brought to the spa centers under any pressure, inducement, or through human trafficking. Following the discovery of irregularities and suspicious activities at several locations, 15 individuals were detained for intensive questioning.
Police officials stated that based on the interrogation, the investigation will extend to the entire network and the roles of other individuals involved. The Gautam Buddh Nagar police have clarified that necessary legal actions will be taken based on the facts, documents, and other evidence available in the case. If any illegal activities, human trafficking, prostitution, or other criminal acts are confirmed during the investigation, stringent legal actions will be pursued against the accused.
Officials have emphasized that ‘Operation Raksha’ will continue to be an ongoing effort. Regular inspections of spa centers, massage parlors, and similar establishments in the district will be conducted to ensure women’s safety and effectively curb any illegal activities.
