
Greater Noida, June 7: The Gautam Budh Nagar Police Commissionerate has launched a significant campaign against the consumption of alcohol and other narcotics in public places, resulting in legal action against 366 individuals.
Police in the Central Noida zone identified these violators and initiated legal proceedings against them. According to police officials, this operation was conducted under the directives of Police Commissioner Lakshmi Singh and the supervision of DCP (Central Noida) Shailendra Kumar Singh.
During this campaign, action was taken against the 366 individuals found drinking in public under Section 292 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Authorities stated that drinking in public can disrupt law and order and disturb peace, hence strict monitoring of such incidents is being enforced.
The Gautam Budh Nagar Police Commissionerate has made it clear that this campaign against public drinking will continue. They have urged citizens to adhere to regulations in public spaces and assist in maintaining law and order.
Officials emphasized that such actions will persist to ensure peace in the city and provide a safe environment for the general public.
Previously, on Saturday, a special operation conducted in various areas of Gautam Budh Nagar led to the arrest of 125 individuals. This operation was a collaborative effort between the Sector-63 and Ecotech-3 police stations, aimed at curbing drug use in public places, maintaining law and order, and ensuring a secure environment for residents and visitors.
According to police officials, this operation was carried out in markets, streets, parks, and other crowded locations where individuals were found violating the law by consuming alcohol and narcotics.
During this campaign, the Sector-63 police station took legal action against 72 individuals allegedly found drinking or using narcotics in public. Similarly, the Ecotech-3 police station acted against 53 individuals for similar violations.
As a result of this joint operation, a total of 125 individuals faced legal action within the jurisdictions of both police stations.
