In addition to the cyclothon, health activities such as Zumba, aerobics, and yoga were organized for the community. The municipal corporation encouraged citizens to participate in the ‘Fit India’ movement, promoting a healthy lifestyle and a vision for a ‘Medswita Mukta Gujarat.’
Speaking to the media, MP Dinesh Makwana stated, “Today’s cyclothon in Ahmedabad saw participation from over a thousand citizens, including NGOs, numerous doctors, lawyers, and teachers and students from schools and colleges. ‘Fit India’ is not just a slogan; it is a commitment. I urge everyone to pledge to cycle every Sunday. Prime Minister Modi has also encouraged the public to use bicycles. Therefore, I call upon everyone to utilize public transport and opt for cycling for short distances.”
Mayor Hitesh Barot added, “In line with Prime Minister Modi’s call for ‘Fit India,’ we organized this cyclothon to ensure the citizens of Ahmedabad remain fit. Through this event, we aim to spread the message of fitness among the people.”
