Four Motorcycle Thieves Arrested in Encounter with Police in Hardoi

Hardoi, June 7: In a significant operation, police in Hardoi district, Uttar Pradesh, arrested four notorious motorcycle thieves during an encounter. One suspect sustained a gunshot wound to the leg and has been hospitalized for treatment. Authorities recovered stolen motorcycles, illegal firearms, cartridges, tools for dismantling bikes, mobile phones, and cash from the suspects.

Under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Ashok Kumar Meena, a special campaign has been launched to apprehend criminals in the area. While patrolling, police received a tip-off about suspicious individuals traveling with stolen motorcycles. Acting on this information, the police team set up a blockade near Chandupur turn and began their investigation. Upon noticing the police, the suspects attempted to flee, leading to an exchange of fire. In the ensuing confrontation, Noor Mohammad, also known as Jareendra, was shot in the leg, while three of his accomplices were apprehended on the spot.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Noor Mohammad, Rajpal from Shahjahanpur, Veer Singh Chauhan, and Shivnath. During interrogation, they admitted to being involved in several motorcycle thefts in Shahabad and surrounding areas.

From the suspects, police seized two stolen motorcycles, one dismantled bike, tools for bike theft, an illegal .315 bore pistol, three live cartridges, two spent cartridges, four mobile phones, and cash. Authorities noted that the suspects have a criminal history, with multiple cases registered against them at various police stations. Noor Mohammad alone has around a dozen cases, including charges under the Gangster Act.

Assistant Superintendent of Police Alok Raj Narayan confirmed the encounter between the police and the criminals. Noor Mohammad was shot in the leg and was immediately sent for medical treatment. His three accomplices were arrested at the scene, along with a cache of illegal items.

Further legal action is being taken against the suspects, ensuring that justice is served.
