Major Crackdown on Illegal Bangladeshi Nationals in Ajmer: 23rd Arrest Made

Ajmer, April 15: The Special Task Force of Ajmer District Police has achieved significant success in its ongoing campaign against illegal Bangladeshi nationals residing in the area. In the 23rd operation, one more Bangladeshi national was apprehended, bringing the total number of arrests to 56.

This initiative is being conducted under the guidance of Rajendra Singh (IPS), Inspector General of Police for Jaipur and Ajmer Range. The district police, led by Superintendent of Police Harshvardhan Agarwal (IPS), is actively identifying and working to expel illegal Bangladeshi and Rohingya infiltrators.

A special team has been formed under the direction of Additional Superintendent of Police Himanshu Jagind (RPS) and Circle Officer Laxman Ram (RPS), with support from the CID zone in Ajmer. This team is conducting intensive search operations in sensitive and potential areas of the city.

According to police reports, during the operation, suspicious individuals were identified in various locations including Dargah Market, Jalian Cemetery, Andkot, New Road, Taragarh Hill, Silawat Mohalla, Bade Peer Ka Chilla, Langar Khana Gali, Chashma-e-Noor, Tripoliya Gate, Sohle Khamba, and Jhalra. Approximately 8-10 suspicious nomadic individuals were detained for questioning.

During the interrogation, Mohammad Tahjul, son of Mohammad Mumtaz Hussain, a resident of Gosai Pur, Thana Gobindaghas, Rangpur District (Bangladesh), admitted to being a Bangladeshi national. He revealed that he illegally crossed the Hili border into India and lived in Malda for 6-7 years. Subsequently, he traveled through New Delhi to Ajmer, where he was living a nomadic life, begging around the Dargah Sharif.

On April 15, 2026, he was detained while suspiciously roaming in Gausiya Colony on Bade Peer Road. He was brought to the Dargah police station for questioning, where he was identified as an illegal Bangladeshi infiltrator.

Police stated that intensive questioning of the accused is ongoing, and efforts are being made to gather information about his network and other potential infiltrators. This campaign will continue, and strict action will be taken against foreign nationals residing illegally in the area.
