Bhopal, August 16: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced that the state has achieved a significant milestone by becoming Naxal-free after 35 years. He emphasized that the police force serves as the true backbone of service, security, and good governance in the state.
During the Independence Day celebrations at the Chief Minister’s residence, 47 police and Home Guard officers were honored with prestigious awards, including the President’s Distinguished Service Medal and the Commendation Medal.
CM Yadav congratulated the awardees, praising their courage, valor, and dedication. He reiterated that the police have given the citizens of Madhya Pradesh a priceless gift on Independence Day by achieving this milestone.
He mentioned that Prime Minister Modi has committed to a Naxal-free India, and the Madhya Pradesh government is working alongside this vision. It is a matter of pride that Madhya Pradesh has become a leading state in the country to bid farewell to the red salute of Naxalism. The role of Madhya Pradesh police and the Hawk Force has been crucial in this campaign.
The Chief Minister noted that many Naxalites have surrendered, while others have been eliminated. Former Naxalites are now joining the mainstream of development. Both the central and state governments are committed to developing tribal areas that have long been deprived of basic amenities.
CM Yadav highlighted that police and Home Guard officers remain vigilant in ensuring citizen safety and maintaining law and order, even in challenging circumstances. Their dedication fosters a sense of security and trust within society. The police play a significant role in promoting harmony in the community.
He stated that it is the government’s duty to bring smiles to every citizen‘s face. The government has removed barriers to promotions, resulting in the promotion of 27,534 police personnel this year alone, marking a historic achievement.
Additionally, new recruitments in the police force are ongoing. Since 2023, over 14,704 candidates have been selected for police positions, with approval granted for 9,751 new recruits this year. Police stations and senior offices have also been integrated with digital services.
