New Delhi, July 15: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan, and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge paid tribute to freedom fighter Thiru K. Kamaraj on his birth anniversary.
Prime Minister Modi expressed his remembrance on X, stating, “Remembering Thiru K. Kamaraj on his birth anniversary. As a stalwart of India’s freedom struggle and an extraordinary public leader, he dedicated his life to nation-building. His unwavering commitment to education, inclusive development, and the welfare of the underprivileged continues to guide generations.”
Vice President Radhakrishnan shared his respect on X, saying, “On the birthday of Thiru Kamaraj, a prominent leader in Indian politics and freedom fighter, I pay my deep respects and tribute. He exemplified simplicity, integrity, and selfless service to the people. He opened thousands of schools with the aim of ensuring education for every child, paving the way for the education of poor and rural students.”
He further added, “Thiru Kamaraj’s visionary initiatives for industrial development, irrigation facilities, rural development, and social welfare laid a strong foundation for Tamil Nadu’s progress. His simplicity, unwavering dedication to the nation’s welfare, and significant contributions to social upliftment will always reside in the hearts of the people. His high ideals and selfless public life will continue to inspire all those working for the country’s progress.”
Mallikarjun Kharge also paid homage on X, stating, “We pay tribute to the great son of India, K. Kamaraj, known for his simplicity and integrity. Highly respected by the people of Tamil Nadu, Kamaraj was a strong advocate for social justice and welfare. As a former Congress President and Bharat Ratna awardee, he initiated revolutionary schemes like the Mid-Day Meal, which still provide free education to underprivileged children. His contributions to nation-building have had a profound and lasting impact on India’s welfare framework.”
