
New Delhi, July 15: Tamil Nadu Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi paid homage to Bharat Ratna K. Kamaraj on his birth anniversary.
In a post on the social media platform X, Governor Arlekar honored Kamaraj, stating, “On the occasion of K. Kamaraj’s birth anniversary, I pay my respectful tribute to a visionary leader who brought revolutionary changes in the field of education in Tamil Nadu. Kamaraj’s pioneering initiatives, including the introduction and expansion of the mid-day meal scheme, have enabled millions of children to access schools and ensured that education reaches the most marginalized sections of society.”
The Governor further added, “His far-reaching reforms in school infrastructure and access to education laid the foundation for Tamil Nadu’s progress and social equality. His life is a remarkable example of simplicity, integrity, and unwavering dedication to public service. His ideals continue to guide us toward building an inclusive and educated society.”
Rahul Gandhi also shared a tribute on X, stating, “Humble tributes to Bharat Ratna Thiru K. Kamaraj on his birth anniversary.” He continued, “A visionary leader who dedicated his life to uplifting the marginalized and protecting their dignity and rights. His legacy of social justice and selfless public service will always be remembered.”
The official Congress handle on X paid tribute, stating, “Remembering K. Kamaraj, the former Chief Minister of Madras and one of India’s most revered leaders. A pioneer in education and social welfare, he transformed countless lives through his visionary policies and selfless service.”
On the occasion of K. Kamaraj’s birth anniversary, members of the Tamizhaga Vetrik Kadagam (TVK) paid floral tributes at his statue in Karur. Congress MP Jothimani and TVK district secretary V.P. Mathiyazhagan were present at the event. Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay also paid homage to the former Chief Minister K. Kamaraj on his 124th birth anniversary.
