Kuwait City, August 23: India’s Ambassador to Kuwait, Parmita Tripathi, met with the Gulf nation’s Minister of Commerce and Industry, Osama Khalid Abdullah Al-Budai, on Sunday to explore opportunities for enhancing cooperation across various sectors.
The Indian Embassy in Kuwait reported on ‘X’ that Ambassador Tripathi discussed the long-standing friendly relations between India and Kuwait. The conversation focused on strengthening collaboration in trade, industry, and economic sectors, with particular emphasis on food security and supply chain management.
Last month, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met with Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah. He expressed gratitude for the support extended towards the welfare of the Indian community and welcomed the Prime Minister’s vision for robust, mutually beneficial cooperation between India and Kuwait.
Minister Jaishankar also held discussions with his Kuwaiti counterpart, Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah. Following their meeting, he posted on ‘X’, stating, “It was a pleasure to meet Kuwait’s Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah. We discussed the conflicts in the Gulf region and their impacts. I expressed gratitude for ensuring the welfare of the Indian community. We jointly reviewed our cooperation in energy, trade, investment, defense, technology, food security, and health. I am confident our strategic partnership will strengthen in the future.”
During a meeting with Kuwait’s Defense Minister Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, Minister Jaishankar primarily addressed issues related to defense industry collaboration and maritime security.
Minister Jaishankar also met with Kuwait’s Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Sabah. The two sides reviewed bilateral relations and exchanged views on current developments in the Gulf region.
The Minister appreciated the Crown Prince’s commitment to advancing bilateral cooperation between India and Kuwait. After their meeting, he expressed on ‘X’, “I felt honored to meet His Highness Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Sabah this morning. I conveyed warm wishes from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. I deeply appreciate his commitment to advancing our bilateral cooperation and thank him for sharing his insights on the developments in the Gulf region.”
