
New Delhi, July 15: In a ceremony held at the Parliament House on Wednesday, India’s Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman C.P. Radhakrishnan administered the oath of office to two newly elected Rajya Sabha members. This announcement was made by the Vice President’s office via the social media platform X.
The members taking the oath include Congress MP Mansoor Ali Khan from Karnataka and BJP MP Rajneesh Kumar Agarwal from Madhya Pradesh.
Mansoor Ali Khan is a Rajya Sabha MP representing Karnataka. He is a senior leader of the Indian National Congress and serves as the Secretary for Kerala and Lakshadweep in the All India Congress Committee (AICC). Additionally, he is recognized as an academic.
On the other hand, Rajneesh Kumar Agarwal is a Rajya Sabha MP from Madhya Pradesh representing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He has held several significant positions within the party, including serving as the State Secretary of BJP in Madhya Pradesh. His previous roles include responsibilities in booth management, state spokesperson, national executive member of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, state general secretary, state vice president, and state secretary of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP).
On this occasion, the Madhya Pradesh BJP also congratulated Rajneesh Kumar Agarwal through a post on the social media platform X, stating that he took the oath as a Rajya Sabha member from Madhya Pradesh today.
With the oath-taking ceremony completed, both MPs have officially commenced their new responsibilities in the Rajya Sabha. In the upcoming sessions of Parliament, they will represent their respective states and political parties while participating in the proceedings of the house.
