
New Delhi, July 2: On the birth anniversary of Dr. Sonelal Patel, the founder of the Apna Dal party, several prominent leaders paid their respects. Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Uttar Pradesh BJP President Pankaj Chaudhary, Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, and Minister Nand Gopal Nandi honored his legacy.
Home Minister Amit Shah took to social media platform X to express, “Dr. Sonelal Patel, a pioneer of social justice, delivered a powerful message against inequality and injustice. He dedicated his entire life to public service, social harmony, and uplifting the poor. His thoughts and commitment to justice and respect for the marginalized will always inspire us. I pay my respects to the founder of Apna Dal on his birth anniversary.”
Uttar Pradesh BJP President Pankaj Chaudhary also shared a post on X, stating, “On the birth anniversary of Sonelal Patel, the founder of Apna Dal and a strong advocate for social justice, I pay my heartfelt tributes. Your struggle, dedication, and service for the rights and dignity of the backward classes, marginalized communities, and farmers will always be inspiring and memorable.”
Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya remarked on X, “I pay my respects on the birth anniversary of Dr. Sonelal Patel, the founder of Apna Dal, dedicated to uplifting the marginalized and backward classes. His lifelong struggle for social justice, equal opportunities, and the rights of the underprivileged will always be a source of inspiration.”
Minister Nand Gopal Nandi posted on X, “On the birth anniversary of Dr. Sonelal Patel, the founder of Apna Dal and a champion of social justice and harmony, I offer my deepest respects. His entire life dedicated to the rights and upliftment of the marginalized and backward communities serves as an inspiration for us all.”
Dr. Sonelal Patel was born on July 2, 1950, in Bagulhai village, Kannauj district, into a Kurmi Hindu family. He was an active Indian politician in Uttar Pradesh and the founder of the political party Apna Dal. He strongly opposed casteism and fought against social inequality. Patel began his political journey in collaboration with Chaudhary Charan Singh and actively participated in protests and rallies against social inequality and caste exploitation across the state and other parts of the country. He tragically passed away in a road accident in Kanpur in 2009.
