Launch of Operation Sindoor: 100 Best Poems Marks First Anniversary of Operation Sindoor

New Delhi, May 8: A grand literary event was held at the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts in New Delhi to celebrate the first anniversary of ‘Operation Sindoor.’ The ceremony featured the launch of the book ‘Operation Sindoor: 100 Best Poems,’ edited by renowned author Dr. Harish Chandra Barnwal and published by the prestigious Prabhat Prakashan.

The event was presided over by Ram Bahadur Rai, the chairman of the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts. Distinguished guests included former army officer Colonel Pradeep Khare, executive editor and anchor of Aaj Tak, Syed Ansari, senior satirical poet Sudip Bhola, and well-known poet and Uttar Pradesh’s State Information Commissioner, Virendra Vats.

During the book launch, Ram Bahadur Rai praised Dr. Harish Chandra Barnwal for his continuous creative efforts. He emphasized that the operation is not over and could resume at any time, encouraging poets participating in the Operation Sindoor poetry competition to continue creating poetry.

The distinguished guests shared their thoughts as well. Colonel Pradeep Khare described the poetry collection ‘Operation Sindoor: 100 Best Poems’ as a living document of valor. He highlighted the Indian Army’s remarkable achievement of destroying nine terrorist and military targets in Pakistan within just 25 minutes, a feat that Pakistan will never forget.

Syed Ansari remarked that every book published by Prabhat Prakashan, which aims to convey national sentiment to the world, is imbued with patriotism. He noted that he had read several poems from this book prior to its publication, as he had an indirect role in its release. He commended Dr. Barnwal for recognizing poets who did not win awards by providing them with certificates and honorariums, elevating their work to a level of excellence.

Dr. Harish Chandra Barnwal introduced the book ‘Operation Sindoor: 100 Best Poems,’ explaining its purpose and background. He shared that ‘H.B. Poetry’ organized the Operation Sindoor poetry competition, which saw enthusiastic participation from 361 poets across the country. This platform provided a powerful expression for poems filled with national sentiment. He added that, with the support of ‘H.B. Poetry’ and Prabhat Prakashan, the works of 100 esteemed and emerging poets have been compiled in this volume, ensuring the heroic saga of ‘Operation Sindoor’ reaches future generations.

During the ceremony, several prominent poets recited their inspiring works, filling the hall with patriotic fervor. A notable highlight of the event was the presentation of certificates to over 80 poets from across the country, honoring their contributions. The gathering was graced by notable figures from literature, journalism, and the arts.
