Last Chance for LIC Dividend: ₹10 Per Share Before June 25 Record Date

New Delhi, June 24: Retail investors have until Wednesday to benefit from the Indian Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) dividend. The company has set June 25 as the record date, meaning investors must purchase LIC shares today to be eligible.

According to an exchange filing, the state-owned insurer has announced a final dividend of ₹10 per equity share for its shareholders.

Under India’s T+1 settlement system, investors wishing to qualify for the dividend must buy shares by June 24. This ensures that the shares appear in their demat accounts by the record date of June 25.

LIC has reported outstanding performance for the fourth quarter of the fiscal year 2025-26. The company’s consolidated net profit has increased by 23.2% year-on-year.

During the January-March 2026 quarter, LIC emerged as the most profitable company in India’s financial sector. The net profit surged to ₹23,420 crore, compared to ₹19,013 crore in the same quarter last year.

The company’s net premium income also rose by 11.6%, reaching ₹1.7 lakh crore, up from ₹1.5 lakh crore in the previous fiscal year’s corresponding quarter.

Companies declare dividends to share a portion of their profits with shareholders. This payment can be final, interim, or special.

Income from dividends is taxable for shareholders. If a resident individual receives more than ₹5,000 in total dividends during a fiscal year, a TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) of 10% applies.

LIC maintained its position as the highest quarterly profit-earning company among central public sector enterprises (CPSEs) for the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2025-26.

Following the strong financial results, LIC shares saw an increase of nearly 5% on the BSE on May 23, with the share price reaching ₹839.

As of March 31, 2026, LIC’s assets under management (AUM) grew by 5% year-on-year to ₹57,29,396 crore, up from ₹54,52,297 crore a year earlier.

This robust performance and the dividend announcement have made LIC shares a focal point for investors.
