India and the U.S. Advance Bilateral Trade Talks Through Multiple Meetings

New Delhi, June 24: India and the United States have conducted several meetings to advance bilateral trade discussions. The focus was on deepening the economic partnership between the two nations. This information was shared by Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal on Wednesday.

Minister Goyal posted on the social media platform X, stating, “We had multiple meetings this morning with U.S. Trade Representative Ambassador Jamison Greer and his delegation.”

The discussions reviewed the progress of India-U.S. trade talks and explored ways to enhance the economic partnership between the two countries.

He further expressed appreciation for Ambassador Greer’s leadership and the continuous efforts of both teams to advance the dialogue in a constructive and progressive manner.

Earlier on Tuesday, Goyal met with Greer and U.S. Ambassador to India Sergio Gor to discuss ways to finalize a balanced trade agreement.

Goyal emphasized that there is a strong and growing economic partnership between India and the U.S. He noted, “We had meaningful discussions to advance negotiations for a balanced and mutually beneficial trade agreement, in line with the joint statement from February 7, 2026.”

India and the U.S. are rapidly moving towards finalizing a bilateral trade agreement, which could open new economic opportunities and strengthen economic ties between the two nations.

In a previous post welcoming Greer to India, Ambassador Sergio Gor stated, “As we advance our ambitious trade agenda, we are moving swiftly towards finalizing a strong bilateral trade agreement that will unlock new economic opportunities for both countries and further strengthen the U.S.-India economic partnership.”

On Monday, Gor mentioned that U.S. Trade Representative Greer would hold several rounds of meetings with Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal in New Delhi. These meetings aim to advance the trade agreement ahead of a significant tariff deadline set for next month.
