Hyderabad, June 15: K. Taraka Rama Rao, the executive president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), criticized Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Monday for the lack of approval for the second phase of the Hyderabad Metro. He stated that this failure reflects the incompetence of Reddy’s government.
Rao accused Reddy of resorting to desperate tactics and spreading falsehoods to hide his inability to secure central approval. He demanded that Reddy explain to the public why the metro project has not been advanced in Hyderabad, especially when the central government has approved similar projects for cities like Uttar Pradesh, Ahmedabad, and Visakhapatnam.
KTR pointed out that despite Reddy making 71 trips to Delhi, he has failed to persuade his ‘big brother’ (referring to the BJP leadership) to approve the project, which he described as a clear example of ineffective administration.
He alleged that this situation arose because Reddy has made ‘secret deals’ with the BJP, fearing that the ‘cash-for-vote’ case against him is tightening. Consequently, instead of criticizing the BJP at the center, Reddy is attempting to mislead the public by targeting the BRS, which is in opposition in Telangana.
KTR asserted that Reddy’s repeated trips to Delhi have been unsuccessful due to his covert agreement with the BJP. He called on Reddy to answer the people of Hyderabad regarding his incompetence on this matter.
He emphasized that the public can clearly see this contradiction. Under the competent leadership of KCR, approvals and loans were obtained swiftly, while everything has come to a standstill under the current administration.
KTR remarked that Reddy’s true character was revealed when he admitted that people in Delhi view him as a ‘slipper thief.’ He stated that the four crore people of Telangana have realized that Reddy is incapable of doing anything other than attacking the BRS and KCR.
