Kerala Woman Missing in Karnataka: CM Pinarayi Vijayan Reaches Out to Siddaramaiah

Mumbai, April 5: A 36-year-old woman from Kannur, Kerala, has gone missing while trekking in the Kodagu district of Karnataka. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has written to Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah regarding this alarming situation.

G.S. Sharanya, an IT professional from Kerala, was reported missing on April 2 while trekking in the Tadiandamol hills of Kodagu. She was staying at a homestay before embarking on her trek. CCTV footage captured her entering the trekking route, but she has not returned since.

In his letter to the Karnataka Chief Minister, Vijayan expressed his concern over Sharanya’s disappearance. He stated, “I am writing to you to express my concern regarding the missing young IT professional from Kerala, G.S. Sharanya, who went missing while trekking in the Kodagu hills on April 2.”

The letter further requested Siddaramaiah to personally intervene in the matter. Vijayan urged him to increase the number of search teams and resources to ensure Sharanya is found and returned home safely.

Despite ongoing search efforts by forest department personnel and local residents, there has been no trace of her thus far. Reports indicate that she set out with a group of ten trekkers on Thursday morning but was not familiar with the others. It has been noted that she was trailing behind the group.

Sharanya had informed the homestay that she had lost her way. Following this, the Karnataka forest department and police initiated a search operation, but so far, they have not achieved any success.
