New Delhi, August 13: Dr. Sudhanshu Trivedi, national spokesperson for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Rajya Sabha MP, addressed the media at his residence in New Delhi on Thursday. He called for the resignation of Arvind Kejriwal, following a ruling by the Punjab-Haryana High Court, which accused the Punjab government of lying in court.
Trivedi raised concerns about the silence of Rahul Gandhi, Kejriwal, and other so-called student advocates regarding the issues faced by students in Jharkhand and Punjab. He claimed that these politicians show no genuine concern for the real struggles of students.
He stated, “A serious question arises after the Punjab-Haryana High Court’s ruling: the Punjab government has lied in court, and this has been validated. We now want to ask Arvind Kejriwal, who has been silent on matters from Jharkhand to Punjab, if your government’s dishonesty has been proven in court, will you resign?”
The BJP spokesperson criticized the ongoing chaos in the Indian Parliament, which he described as the largest platform for constitutional discussion. He emphasized that the lies in the Punjab Assembly, the uproar in Parliament, and the questions raised by the judiciary clearly indicate that the so-called moral authority of Kejriwal and Rahul Gandhi has collapsed under constitutional scrutiny.
Trivedi also expressed disappointment over the absence of new advocates for student interests, questioning where they are amid the struggles of Jharkhand students and the recent court ruling. He concluded that it is evident these politicians have no real connection to student welfare.
He reiterated the BJP’s stance, asking Kejriwal, Gandhi, and all involved at Jantar Mantar why they remain silent. He encapsulated the students’ plight from Punjab to Jharkhand, stating, “From Punjab to Jharkhand, students are deeply troubled. The court’s ruling raises many questions, and the uproar in Parliament is an attempt to evade those questions.”
