New Delhi, August 4: Harsh Malhotra, the President of Delhi BJP, has accused Arvind Kejriwal, the national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), of politicizing the issue of ethanol-blended petrol. Malhotra claims that Kejriwal’s motive for raising this issue is solely to remain in the headlines, as he attempts to secure his political future through social media-driven politics.
In a statement released on Tuesday, Malhotra emphasized that the BJP has already made it clear that Kejriwal’s campaign regarding ethanol-blended petrol is entirely political. He alleged that Kejriwal is well aware that ethanol-blended petrol is essential for the future, yet he staged a march to the Prime Minister‘s residence.
Malhotra pointed out that, as he had predicted, Kejriwal claimed on Tuesday that he was stopped by the police, after which he protested outside his office for about half an hour. He accused Kejriwal of submitting a bundle of documents to the police, claiming to have handed over 233,238 petitions.
The BJP leader stated that, considering the potential defeat of AAP in the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections, Kejriwal is trying to revive his political career through social media, and the campaign against ethanol-blended petrol is the beginning of that strategy.
Malhotra asserted that vehicle owners across the country understand that ethanol-blended petrol is the fuel of the future and will not be misled by Kejriwal. He noted that despite repeated challenges, Kejriwal has yet to present even 100 vehicles with a certified automotive engineer’s report indicating that E-20 petrol has harmed them.
He advised Kejriwal to cease politicizing the ethanol-blended petrol issue, warning that failure to do so could lead to the end of his remaining political relevance.
