New Delhi, August 4: Former captain of the Indian football team, Baichung Bhutia, emphasized the importance of respectful language in protests. He stated that while everyone has the right to express their dissent, using inappropriate words is unacceptable, especially towards the Prime Minister.
Bhutia remarked, “Everyone has the right to protest and voice their opinions on any issue. However, using disrespectful language is completely inappropriate. This is particularly true when it comes to the Prime Minister. Such behavior is not beneficial for oneself, the country, or society.”
He further expressed the desire for the Prime Minister and the government to engage more youth in sports.
Recently, a protest by youth took place at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. Videos from the event have gone viral on social media, showing some participants using offensive language against the Prime Minister. Prominent figures from various sectors of society have condemned this behavior and urged young people to refrain from such language.
The protest concluded following the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Subsequently, Delhi police took action against those who used derogatory terms against PM Modi. However, many young individuals have recognized their mistakes and publicly apologized.
In a video shared on Instagram, Prime Minister Narendra Modi forgave those who used inappropriate language against him, stating that it is our responsibility to guide these young individuals onto the right path.
