Mumbai, June 3: The ongoing controversy between actor Ranveer Singh and the Film Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has become a hot topic in the film industry. Many artists are voicing their opinions regarding the non-cooperation directive issued against the actor. In this context, actress Kangana Ranaut has also shared her thoughts on the matter.
During the trailer launch event of her upcoming film “Bharat Bhagya Vidhata,” Kangana spoke in support of Ranveer Singh, stating, “As your stature increases, so do your enemies.”
When asked about the FWICE’s decision against Ranveer Singh, Kangana remarked, “It’s interesting that you’re asking me about this. I was also banned at one point. When your stature grows, your enemies increase. It’s impossible for your stature to rise without facing opposition. Ranveer should understand what his stature is, given that he has so many enemies.”
Kangana further elaborated, “Life doesn’t always remain the same. Along with success, struggles also come. I’ve faced various incidents in the film industry, but I never stopped working. I’m doing well, and my career is thriving. Such decisions don’t affect me much.”
The controversy primarily revolves around the film “Don 3,” which was announced in 2023 by producer Farhan Akhtar. Ranveer Singh was set to play the lead role, and it was anticipated to be the next installment in the popular Don franchise. However, reports later emerged that Ranveer had distanced himself from the project. This led to the ensuing dispute, which has now escalated to involve various organizations.
Producers claim that they have suffered significant financial losses due to changes in the film’s preparation, pre-production, and schedule. Consequently, FWICE issued a non-cooperation directive against Ranveer Singh, stating that its members would not work with him until the matter is resolved.
However, opinions on this decision vary within the industry. Stars like Chunky Pandey and Manoj Bajpayee have expressed hope that the controversy will be resolved through dialogue soon.
