Kangana Ranaut Talks Marriage and Career in Latest Interview

Mumbai, June 7: Actress and MP Kangana Ranaut is currently busy promoting her upcoming film “Bharat Bhagya Vidhata.” In a recent interview, she discussed women’s lives, marriage, careers, and their contributions to society. During the conversation, her co-star Smita Tambe posed a question about Kangana’s marriage plans, prompting a humorous response from the actress.

Kangana shared insights about discussions among co-stars. Smita mentioned that Kangana was avoiding the question of when she would marry. In a light-hearted tone, Kangana replied, “Our conversation wasn’t about who is doing what in life. We were generally discussing our life experiences, but yes, Smita is definitely looking for a match for me.”

When asked why many successful women take time to decide on marriage, Kangana attributed it to individual life journeys. She stated, “I believe everyone has their own life journey. All my co-stars present are married, and two have children, but each experience is unique. For instance, Girija became a mother at a very young age, which can be a challenging situation. Every woman has her own path. In my case, I believe in the institution of marriage. It’s not that I don’t believe in it, but the truth is that marriage hasn’t been my priority for a long time. My career has always come first.”

Reflecting on her career journey, Kangana recalled, “I started working at the age of sixteen or seventeen, but I achieved success at 29 with films like ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ and ‘Queen.’ After that, I had to make many decisions. My parents would say, ‘What kind of thinking is this? Girls don’t think like that.’ But I always felt I had to move forward in my own way.”

When questioned about the low salaries and challenging work conditions of nurses, Kangana expressed, “I believe that when every job becomes merely a financial transaction, society gradually declines. When we talk about domestic work, women save four thousand rupees when they wash clothes and six thousand when they cook. Hearing this evokes an emotional restlessness in me. What kind of thinking is this? If people respect work, view it emotionally, and strive to make it easier, the country’s economy will naturally grow. In this film, I am portraying nurses to show how brave, independent, and dedicated they are.”

Regarding “Bharat Bhagya Vidhata,” the film is based on the 2008 Mumbai terrorist attacks and is inspired by real events that occurred at KEM Hospital. Kangana plays the role of nurse Geeta Madhav, who prioritizes her duty while serving patients in the hospital.

The film also features notable actors such as Girija Oak, Smita Tambe, Amrita Namdev, Isha De, Priya Berde, Asha Shelare, Suhita Thatte, Rasika Dugal, Aditya Mishra, and Zahid Khan in significant roles. Directed by Manoj Tapadia, “Bharat Bhagya Vidhata” is set to release in theaters on June 12.
