Mumbai, August 24: Arjun Das, known for his unique voice and strong screen presence in Tamil cinema, is currently in the spotlight for his upcoming film ‘Once More.’ During the recent trailer launch, he shared an intriguing story that has caught the industry’s attention.
He revealed that several production companies were willing to back the film, but they had one condition: to cast another actor in place of Arjun Das. Despite this pressure, the director, Vignesh Srikanth, firmly refused to change his decision.
Recalling his first encounter with the film, Arjun said, “A long time ago, Vignesh Srikanth approached me with the story. Our meeting was facilitated by director Surya Narayan. When Srikanth shared the film’s concept, I found it incredibly beautiful. From that moment, he was determined to cast me in the lead role.”
Arjun further explained, “Srikanth approached various production companies with the story. He presented the idea to different producers and sought collaboration. Many companies showed interest in the project after hearing the story, but they also had a suggestion.”
He continued, “Some production companies told Srikanth that they would be willing to produce the film if he cast another actor in the lead role. At such times, it is not easy for a director to make a decision, as securing a producer is a crucial part of any project.”
Arjun stated, “The response from all those production companies was the same—’No, I will make this film with Arjun Das.’ Srikanth continued searching for a producer, but he did not change his preference just because a company wanted to cast another actor.”
Eventually, Arjun mentioned, “Srikanth met producer Yuvraj Ganeshan, who also liked the film’s concept and was equally excited about the story. Their visions aligned, allowing the project to move forward. After a long wait, the path to creating ‘Once More’ was finally cleared.”
‘Once More’ is set to release in theaters worldwide on August 28, 2026.
