New Delhi, September 1: Union Health and Family Welfare Minister JP Nadda chaired a review meeting on Monday at the Rural Health Training Center (RHTC) in Najafgarh, West Delhi. The meeting focused on assessing the advancements in patient care and facilities.
Nadda evaluated the implementation of initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care, infrastructure, manpower, academic activities, and digital health systems at the center.
Reviewing the progress since the last meeting on April 13, Nadda instructed all agencies and institutions to complete ongoing projects on time and to implement planned measures in a coordinated manner.
He emphasized the need for close monitoring of outcomes, timely availability of manpower and equipment, and consistent attention to quality patient care and medical training.
Nadda noted that RHTC Najafgarh has made significant strides in strengthening its clinical manpower and services. He reiterated the importance of coordinated and timely actions to further develop RHTC Najafgarh as a comprehensive center for patient care, medical education, nursing, health training, and community-centered healthcare.
The center’s outpatient department (OPD) and emergency services are fully operational, along with facilities such as an anti-rabies vaccination center, anti-snake venom center, and other support services like a Jan Aushadhi center, CSSD, laboratory, and ambulance services. An official statement mentioned that a minor operation theater is also in operation.
According to the statement, RHTC Najafgarh has been linked to MedliPR for medico-legal cases and PM-JAY under Ayushman Bharat, facilitating easier access to services for eligible beneficiaries.
RHTC is progressing towards NQAS certification for its Urban Primary Health Center (UPHC) and the development of a model PHC.
On average, RHTC records approximately 47,000 OPD consultations and 9,000 emergency cases each month; additionally, 221 minor procedures were conducted in August.
The statement also highlighted that the TB Free India campaign includes screening for TB symptoms during regular OPD and PHC visits.
To strengthen clinical manpower, training, digital systems, procurement, and research, RHTC is collaborating with other central government institutions, including Safdarjung Hospital, ABVIMS, RML Hospital, and NIMR. The center has also joined the ‘One Nation One Subscription’ (ONOS) initiative.
The meeting was attended by Union Health Secretary Poonam Salila Srivastava and Director General of Health Services Lownish G. Krishna.
