Kolkata, April 26: Political parties have intensified their campaign efforts for the second phase of the West Bengal elections. Central Minister JP Nadda held a roadshow in the Raina assembly constituency on Saturday. He expressed confidence that a “double-engine” government would be formed in Bengal, asserting that the public has decided to bid farewell to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
In response to Mamata Banerjee’s statements, Nadda remarked that they reflect her personal opinion. He emphasized that the Election Commission is performing its duties, and when fair elections occur, Mamata Banerjee will undoubtedly face challenges. He stated that the people have resolved to bring the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to power under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership.
Nadda referenced the Trinamool Congress (TMC), stating that Delhi is far away. He predicted that this time, the people of Bengal would uproot the TMC’s roots.
Commenting on the high voter turnout in the first phase, Nadda claimed it was a one-sided decision favoring the BJP and against Mamata. He accused the TMC of extortion, corruption, and various scams, which have angered the common people, leading them to decide to say goodbye to Mamata.
The significant turnout in the first phase clearly indicated that the public’s vote is leaning towards BJP candidates. Nadda is confident that the BJP will secure a clear majority in the second phase.
He took to social media platform ‘X’ to share that the enthusiasm and support witnessed in the Raina assembly area demonstrate that the people of West Bengal stand firmly with PM Modi’s leadership and vision for development. He noted that there is considerable anger among women, who feel betrayed. The TMC has opposed women’s reservation in Parliament and has failed to ensure their safety. Mamata Banerjee had even advised women not to go out after 7 PM, highlighting a significant failure in law and order under her leadership.
Nadda concluded that the voting pattern in the first phase is a clear indication that the BJP is poised to form the next government.
