Agartala, April 11: The Assam Rifles conducted a multi-agency training exercise on Saturday at Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport in Agartala, in collaboration with the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). The primary goal was to strengthen coordination, preparedness, and response capabilities among security agencies.
According to a defense spokesperson, the training aimed to enhance synergy between various agencies and improve the operational readiness of personnel assigned to secure critical infrastructure.
During the exercise, Assam Rifles personnel shared their expertise in security drills, response protocols, and coordinated actions during emergencies. This collaboration helped other agencies refine their response systems.
The joint training provided personnel from different agencies with the opportunity to practice together, exchange best practices, and develop situational awareness to address potential security threats.
This exercise reaffirmed the strong commitment to coordination and security among agencies responsible for protecting vital installations.
The Assam Rifles reiterated its commitment to assist civil administration and other security agencies in capacity building and preparedness to effectively tackle emerging security challenges.
Earlier this month, the Assam Rifles also organized a drone awareness and training session for CISF personnel. Given the increasing use of drones in civilian and security sectors, the program aimed to raise awareness among CISF personnel about the threats associated with unmanned aerial systems and equip them with necessary skills to address these challenges.
The drone training included classroom sessions that provided insights into various types of drones, their capabilities, and associated security risks. Special emphasis was placed on standard operating procedures, including drone identification, threat assessment, and appropriate responses in various scenarios.
Following the theoretical training, CISF personnel gained hands-on experience in drone operations. Participants observed live demonstrations and practiced basic techniques for operating and controlling drones.
This exercise allowed them to understand the identification and functionality of different drone models in real-world situations.
Officials stated that such joint training programs are crucial for enhancing coordination among agencies and improving operational efficiency. They noted that the program increased the technical understanding of CISF personnel and bolstered their confidence in handling drone-related situations.
The Central Industrial Security Force is responsible for the security of several airports in the northeastern region, including Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport in Agartala.
Last month, the Assam Rifles also conducted an intensive two-day drone exercise in Peren district of Nagaland. Defense spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Mahendra Rawat reported that this exercise was held at the drone training center in Jalukie under the Indian Army’s Spear Corps, focusing on enhancing tactical surveillance and technical skills.
