Quetta, September 11 (Daily Kiran) : The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) has claimed responsibility for a series of attacks in Balochistan that reportedly resulted in the deaths of over 12 Pakistani security personnel, including a police officer. Local media reports indicate that these attacks occurred in various regions over the past few days.
In a statement released on Thursday, BLF spokesperson Major Gwaharham Baloch detailed operations conducted against Pakistani security forces between August 15 and September 9. The attacks spanned several areas, including Chagai, Surab, Awaran, Khuzdar, Rakhshan, Kech, Quetta, and Barkhan.
According to the statement, on September 9, BLF fighters took control of the Talaran police station in the Baramcha area of Chagai district. The organization claims to have detained police personnel, seizing their weapons, equipment, and a vehicle. They later released the detained officers unharmed after issuing a warning.
The BLF also reported an ambush on a convoy of the Pakistani army near a grid station in the Gidar area of Surab on the same day, asserting that the security forces suffered significant casualties. Additionally, the group took responsibility for an attack on a Pakistani military convoy at Mughal Cross in Khuzdar on September 4, claiming that six soldiers were killed. They stated that one vehicle was directly targeted while others came under fire from rockets and automatic weapons.
On September 7, the BLF claimed responsibility for an IED explosion in Awaran that resulted in the deaths of two Pakistani soldiers and injuries to two others. They also reported setting fire to a fiber-optic facility in Chagai and a Ufone communication tower in Rakhshan.
The organization noted that on September 1, an attack on a military patrol team in the Kolwah area of Awaran led to the deaths of two soldiers and injuries to two more. In another incident, on August 28, a police officer was killed during an attempt by police to stop BLF fighters in Quetta, with several others injured. The BLF also claimed that three individuals allegedly working with Pakistani security forces were killed.
These incidents come amid a surge in attacks by armed Baloch groups against the Pakistani army and police forces in Balochistan. Reports indicate that these assaults have resulted in not only casualties among security personnel but also damage to infrastructure.
Earlier this week, the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) claimed to have conducted 28 operations in various regions of Balochistan from September 1 to 7, resulting in the deaths of 52 Pakistani security personnel and numerous injuries.
