Srinagar, August 21: A significant opportunity has emerged for those aspiring to become civil servants. The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has issued an official notification inviting applications to fill a total of 357 vacancies in the Public Works (R&B) Department of the Jammu and Kashmir government through direct recruitment.
The recruitment includes 48 Draftsman (Civil) positions for the Jammu Division, 49 Draftsman (Civil) positions for the Kashmir Division, 194 Works Supervisor positions for the Jammu Division, and 66 Works Supervisor positions for the Kashmir Division.
The online application process began on August 1 and will close on August 30. Interested candidates can complete their registration on the JKSSB official website before or by the deadline.
Applicants must possess a two-year training course certificate/diploma in Draftsmanship from a recognized institution or university for the Draftsman positions. For the Works Supervisor positions, candidates should have passed the matriculation examination or possess equivalent qualifications, along with an ITI certificate in Building Construction or Carpentry trade.
The maximum age limit for applicants is set at 40 years, calculated as of January 1, 2026. Candidates from reserved categories will receive age relaxation as per regulations.
Selection of eligible candidates will be based on a written/OMR examination, merit, and document verification. Selected candidates for the Draftsman position will receive a monthly salary ranging from ₹25,500 to ₹81,100, while those for the Works Supervisor position will earn between ₹15,900 and ₹50,400. Additional benefits and allowances will also be provided.
During the application process, candidates must pay the prescribed application fee online, which is ₹600 for the general category and ₹500 for candidates from SC, ST-1, ST-2, EWS, and PWD categories.
