Bhopal, May 21: Jitu Patwari, the president of the Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee, has accused the government of fostering hatred and division in the country. This statement was made during a tribute event organized by the state and district Congress committees at the Congress office in Bhopal, commemorating the death anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
During the event, Patwari paid homage to Rajiv Gandhi by placing flowers at his portrait. He addressed the gathering, stating that the current political climate is marked by the promotion of hatred and division. He alleged that the entire governmental and economic machinery is being misused for political gain.
Patwari emphasized that the assassinations of Mahatma Gandhi, Indira Gandhi, and Rajiv Gandhi were results of a hateful ideology, and he warned that a similar atmosphere is being created today. He criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi, noting that he came to power with promises of a corruption-free India, job creation, and a strong economy. However, Patwari pointed out that the country is now facing economic crises, unemployment, and social division.
He further claimed that the central government’s policies have weakened the nation’s economy, administrative institutions, and educational systems. The Congress party, he asserted, has always worked towards uniting the country, strengthening democratic institutions, and maintaining social harmony.
Patwari concluded by highlighting that Rajiv Gandhi laid the foundation for modern India and directed the country towards a technological revolution. He called for the need to advance Gandhi’s ideals. At the end of the program, all Congress members pledged to uphold Rajiv Gandhi’s principles and continue the struggle for brotherhood, democracy, and the protection of the Constitution.
