New Delhi, March 31: Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi has taken a jab at Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha. He questioned Gandhi’s frequent trips abroad, expressing confusion over the reasons behind them.
In the context of ongoing conflicts in the Middle East, the Indian government convened an all-party meeting, which Rahul Gandhi did not attend. He explained his absence by stating that the meeting was called while he was not in Delhi.
In a light-hearted manner, Manjhi remarked on Gandhi’s tendency to leave the country often, saying, “I don’t understand why he keeps going out.”
Regarding Home Minister Amit Shah’s comments on Naxalism, Manjhi stated that it is true Shah has repeatedly claimed that the issue is nearing its end. He mentioned that both sides are working towards resolving it. People are being urged to abandon the wrong path and choose the right one. Those who refuse to comply face consequences, with Naxalism reportedly reduced by 90 to 95 percent.
He recalled an anecdote from a past election campaign in a state where people would not venture outside after noon. Today, however, he noted that people, including women, are freely going out even at night without fear.
On Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s resignation from the Legislative Council, Manjhi praised him, stating, “There is no one like Nitish Kumar. He is unique. Under his guidance, Bihar will progress. Nitish Kumar is the architect of this new Bihar.”
