Gumla, Jharkhand: In a shocking incident from Sisai police station area of Gumla district, a woman along with her lover allegedly murdered her husband and disposed of the body in a forest. On Monday, the police recovered the body of 36-year-old Budhram Tirki from the Songra Pahad Kona forest near Mukunda village. The deceased was working as a sales manager in a textile store in Gumla.
According to police, the murder was a conspiracy hatched by the deceased’s wife, Ranthi Devi, and her lover, Sitaram Oraon. Budhram’s brother, Suresh Tirki, told the police that on January 2, Budhram left home with his wife and son, saying they were going to an Ojha-Bhagat (tantric). In the evening, Ranthi Devi returned home alone with the child.
When family members inquired about Budhram, Ranthi Devi gave vague answers, raising suspicion. The family began searching for Budhram but found no trace. Subsequently, a missing person report was filed at the Gumla police station. Meanwhile, villagers informed the police about a body found in the forest under Sisai police station jurisdiction.
The police recovered the body, which was identified as Budhram Tirki. The investigation revealed that Ranthi Devi had an extramarital affair with Sitaram Oraon. Due to this illicit relationship, the couple allegedly planned to remove Budhram from their lives.
Preliminary interrogation suggests that Budhram was killed with a sharp weapon. The police have taken the wife and her lover into custody for questioning. Further information indicates the involvement of two more accused, who are currently being searched for. Police officer Suresh Prasad Yadav stated that the wife and her lover have been detained and that the remaining suspects will be arrested soon.
