New Delhi, March 14: An important announcement has been made for thousands of water consumers in Greater Noida. If you have not yet settled your outstanding water bill, it is essential to do so before March 31. Failing to pay by this date will result in the addition of interest for the entire financial year 2026-27 starting April 1. The authority is also preparing to take strict action against defaulters, including disconnecting water connections.
According to reports, there are over 51,000 water connections in the Greater Noida authority area. Out of these, more than 29,000 connections have an outstanding amount totaling approximately ₹270 crore. The highest dues are owed by builder societies, with around ₹150 crore pending from about 92 such societies. Additionally, over 28,000 residential properties, 6 IT units, 321 institutional units, 763 industrial units, 20 residential committees, and 21 commercial properties also have outstanding water charges.
Despite multiple notices issued by the authority, a significant number of consumers have yet to pay their bills. Until now, the water department has refrained from strict measures to avoid inconveniencing residents. However, the authority is now in a position to take action against defaulters.
Officials have stated that consumers who do not pay their outstanding dues by March 31 may face disconnection of their water supply. To facilitate payments, the authority has made arrangements for consumers to view and pay their bills online. Residents can visit the authority’s website to check their outstanding bills and make payments.
For those whose KYC is updated, information regarding water charges has been sent via messages and emails. If any consumer requires information about their outstanding bill or payment, they can contact the Senior Manager (Water) at mobile number 9205691408.
Sumit Yadav, the authority’s ACEO, emphasized that while ensuring water supply in the city is the authority’s responsibility, timely payment of water bills is the responsibility of the allottees. He noted that the funds collected from water charges are used to improve the city’s water supply network and develop new facilities.
The ACEO has urged all defaulters to pay their outstanding water charges before March 31 to avoid increased interest rates or stringent actions, ensuring that no resident faces unnecessary inconvenience.
