Jharkhand BJP Withdraws Bandh Call Amid Ongoing Investigation into Hazaribagh Murder Case

Ranchi, April 3: The Jharkhand BJP state president and Rajya Sabha MP, Aditya Sahu, has announced the withdrawal of previously planned protests following police revelations in the brutal murder case of a minor girl in Kusumba (Vishnugadh), Hazaribagh.

During a press conference held at the state office on Thursday night at 9:30 PM, Sahu declared the postponement of the torch rally scheduled for April 3 and the ‘Jharkhand Bandh’ planned for April 9. However, he expressed skepticism regarding the police’s ‘sacrifice’ theory and reiterated the demand for a high-level judicial inquiry into the case.

Sahu criticized the state government and police administration, claiming that the revelation of this murder case was only possible due to intense pressure from the BJP. He questioned the police’s narrative of ‘sacrifice,’ stating, “There are inconsistencies in the methods of sacrifice and the police’s claims. A thorough investigation is necessary to uncover the truth, including violations of the POCSO Act.”

He dismissed claims that the arrested suspect, Bhim Ram, was a BJP worker, asserting that Ram has never been a party member and that misleading information is being spread under pressure from the ruling party. Sahu sharply criticized the ruling JMM and Congress, labeling them as ‘insensitive.’

He remarked, “Those who are celebrating the revelation of the murder case on the streets, where were they hiding for eight days? Chief Minister Hemant Soren and MLA Kalpana Soren have not even tweeted about this heinous crime or visited the victim’s family.”

Sahu alleged that incidents of robbery, murder, and sexual assault have surged in the state over the past six years, attributing this to the government’s appeasement policies. He stated that the police administration is more focused on extorting from sand, coal, and stone mafias rather than improving law and order.

He warned that if any daughter of the state faces such brutality in the future or if the plundering of mineral wealth does not cease, BJP workers will bring the entire Jharkhand to a standstill. He referenced recent incidents in Ramgarh and stone-pelting during Ram Navami, noting that appeasement has become a common issue disrupting the festivals of the majority community.
