Jammu and Kashmir Police Seizes Assets Linked to Drug Trafficking

Reasi, April 18: In a decisive move against drug trafficking, Jammu and Kashmir police have seized assets acquired through illegal means in Reasi district. This action is part of the ‘100 Days Drug-Free Jammu and Kashmir Campaign’. The police targeted the financial roots of the drug network, confiscating a motorcycle belonging to a trafficker.

According to the Reasi police, the operation was conducted under the leadership of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mukund Tibrewal. This action stemmed from an investigation into a case registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The FIR No. 50/2026, filed at Reasi police station, revealed that the accused, Sudarshan Singh, purchased the motorcycle (registration number JK20C-9304) with money gained from drug trafficking.

PSI Rahul Jamwal, in charge of the Talwara police post, conducted a thorough financial investigation. It was found that the accused had no legitimate source of income and was involved in several suspicious financial transactions. This indicated that his assets were obtained through illegal drug trade. Based on solid evidence, the police seized the motorcycle under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act to prevent its concealment, sale, or transfer.

The operation was executed under the supervision of Inspector Khyatimaan Khajuria, the officer in charge of Reasi police station, with oversight from DSP Headquarters Reasi Vishal Singh Jamwal and Additional Superintendent of Police Reasi Iftikhar Ahmed.

Reasi police clarified that their goal is not only to arrest drug traffickers but also to dismantle their entire financial network.
