Greater Noida, April 18: The Beta-2 police in Greater Noida have made a significant breakthrough by dismantling a gang involved in the theft of mobile tower equipment and vehicles. Three suspects have been arrested, and police recovered stolen RRU equipment, a motorcycle, and illegal knives from their possession.
According to police reports, the arrests were made on Saturday based on local intelligence and confidential information near the Yatharth roundabout. The accused have been identified as Ravindra, Rahul, and Praveen, all residents of the Kasna area.
During interrogation, the suspects revealed shocking details about their operations. They admitted to conducting reconnaissance in the area before seizing the opportunity to steal RRU equipment from mobile towers. They were also involved in vehicle thefts.
Police confirmed that the recovered RRU equipment was stolen approximately 4-5 days ago from the Kasna area, while the motorcycle had been taken about a year ago from the Surajpur locality. To evade capture, the suspects had removed the motorcycle’s license plate.
The investigation also uncovered that the suspects carried illegal knives for self-defense in case they were apprehended. Police seized three illegal knives from them. A case regarding the stolen motorcycle had already been registered at the Surajpur police station. The trio has a lengthy criminal history, with multiple cases registered against them for theft, illegal possession of weapons, assault, and offenses under the NDPS Act.
Authorities believe that the arrest of this gang will help curb the rising incidents of theft in the area. Police are currently conducting further inquiries to identify other accomplices and additional crimes linked to the suspects.
