District Administration Launches Medical Camps for Workers Health in Gautam Buddh Nagar

Mumbai, April 18: The district administration in Gautam Buddh Nagar is taking proactive steps to enhance health services for workers. Medical camps will be set up in the industrial areas of the district. In this regard, the District Magistrate convened a crucial meeting with health department officials and private hospital operators at the Collectorate auditorium.

The primary goal of the meeting was to develop a coordinated and effective system for safeguarding the health of millions of workers employed in the district. The District Magistrate emphasized that Gautam Buddh Nagar is recognized as the economic capital of Uttar Pradesh, hosting numerous industrial units with millions of workers. Improving the health, safety, and living standards of these workers is a top priority for the administration.

He noted that the state government is consistently implementing planned initiatives in housing, health, skill development, social security, and education for workers’ children. The District Magistrate urged private hospital operators to utilize their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds to regularly organize medical camps in industrial areas, construction sites, and labor colonies.

He specifically highlighted the need to focus on women’s health, directing that separate and enhanced facilities for women be ensured at these medical camps. Additionally, he instructed that these camps provide screening for serious illnesses such as breast and cervical cancer for workers and their families.

The administration also emphasized the establishment of mini OPDs, mobile medical vans, and eye check-up camps in worker-dense areas to ensure timely treatment for cataracts and to provide glasses to those in need. Regular health check-ups and mobile medical services for workers at construction sites were also mandated.

The District Magistrate instructed all private hospitals to coordinate with the health department to prepare a detailed micro-plan, designating a nodal officer in each hospital to ensure effective implementation of these initiatives.

Health department officials were directed to ensure that district hospitals, community health centers, primary health centers, and JIMS hospitals are adequately staffed with doctors, medications, and medical equipment. Any shortages should be addressed promptly as a priority.

Furthermore, a solid action plan was instructed to include more hospitals under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, maximizing benefits for workers and their families.

The meeting was attended by Chief Medical Officer Dr. Narendra Kumar, JIMS Director Brigadier Dr. Rakesh Gupta, Additional Chief Medical Officer Tikam Singh, Sanjeev Srivastava, District Tuberculosis Officer R.P. Singh, District Malaria Officer Shruti Kirti Verma, DPM Manjeet Kumar, and several other doctors and officials.

This initiative by the district administration is expected to significantly improve health services for workers in the region, enhancing their quality of life.
