Jagdish Aafle Appointed as Secretary of Ayodhya Ram Temple Trust

New Delhi, July 30: The Ayodhya Ram Temple will now be led by Jagdish Aafle. His formal appointment as Secretary is expected to be announced on September 2. Aafle, a resident of Pune’s Padmavati area, holds a B.Tech and M.Tech in Electrical Engineering from one of the country’s premier institutions, IIT Bombay.

After completing his education, Aafle’s professional journey spanned from India to top multinational companies in Europe and the United States, where he showcased his skills.

Despite his global success, Aafle has always remained deeply connected to his roots and culture. He has been a dedicated member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) since childhood. Even during his illustrious corporate career in America, his spirit of service remained strong. He and his wife, Madhuri Aafle, served as full-time volunteers (Vistaraks) for the RSS in the U.S. for nearly three years.

When the Supreme Court of India delivered its historic verdict in favor of the Ram Temple, the Aafle couple, who had returned to India post-retirement, left behind all their comforts. On the recommendation of the RSS, Jagdish Aafle joined the Ram Temple construction site as an honorary project manager without any salary, overseeing the sprawling 70-acre complex. For the past five years, he and his wife, who specializes in temple architecture and sculpture, have been residing in Ayodhya’s pilgrimage area.

Aafle leads a highly disciplined life as an engineer. He closely monitors every technical detail of the temple construction. Every Saturday, he conducts a thorough review of the construction work and meets with Nrupendra Mishra, the chairman of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Trust, and officials from the Uttar Pradesh government every Monday to ensure progress.

Recently, the Ram Temple Trust faced significant administrative and financial instability. In early June 2026, serious allegations of irregularities in donations and offerings raised questions about the trust. Following this controversy, arrests were made based on an initial report from the SIT, leading to the resignations of the then-general secretary, Champat Rai, and trustee Dr. Anil Mishra.

During a crucial trust meeting on July 22, Aafle’s name was unanimously proposed for the newly created Secretary position under administrative restructuring. His official appointment will be confirmed on September 2.
