Amaravati, September 9 (Daily Kiran) : Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the president of the YSR Congress Party and former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, revealed plans for a statewide march in September or October 2027. This initiative aims to address public issues and strengthen grassroots connections ahead of the 2029 elections.
Reddy made the announcement during a meeting with party workers from the Paruchur assembly constituency at the YSRCP central office in Tadepalli. He noted, “Time flies quickly; two and a half years have already passed, and another year will pass just as swiftly. My march will commence next September or October and will include Paruchur.”
He highlighted that citizens have begun comparing the governance of the YSR Congress Party over the past five years with the current government led by Chandrababu Naidu, observing a clear distinction between the two. Reddy asserted that the YSRCP has fulfilled 99 percent of its promises, enhancing the credibility of its manifesto. In contrast, he accused Naidu of distributing bonds before elections but failing to deliver on those promises once in power.
Referring to the upcoming political contest as a “Kurukshetra struggle,” Reddy urged party workers to stand firmly with the public and combat any misuse of government machinery. He recalled the 2017 Nandyal by-election and subsequent political events, emphasizing that lasting political success cannot be achieved through oppression.
“Regardless of when elections occur, the YSRCP will stand with the people. If elections are conducted fairly, the YSRCP will win. Even if they are not, we will fight vigorously,” he stated. Reddy claimed there is widespread public discontent against the TDP-led government under Naidu.
He emphasized the importance of good governance, stating, “A ruler must always work for the people’s benefit and seek votes based on that. Only then will God bless them, and the people will support them. Lies and aggressive behavior will not be tolerated by the public.”
Reddy pointed out that discussions are ongoing in households about the differences between the YSRCP’s five years in power and Naidu’s two and a half years. He boasted about the achievements of the YSRCP government, stating, “Our administration has been one that every party worker can proudly discuss and confidently approach any household. YSRCP workers can enter any home and speak proudly of our accomplishments.” He also noted that Naidu had sent bonds along with the manifesto to every home, yet there has been no follow-up on those promises post-elections.
