The verse states, “One should always associate with good people, engage in discussions with them, and avoid disputes with the unworthy.”
In his post, Modi expressed confidence that world leaders gathering for the upcoming BRICS summit will engage in meaningful discussions aimed at global welfare.
The verse encourages individuals to maintain the company of virtuous people and to foster friendly relations, as positive interactions promote peace and cooperation. It suggests that our surroundings significantly influence our thoughts and actions. Being among good company instills positive values and ethics.
Moreover, the verse highlights that even if disagreements arise with a wise individual, there is always something to learn from them, given their thoughtful perspective. Conversely, engaging in disputes with wicked individuals only disrupts mental peace and yields no benefits.
