New Delhi, March 22: Following devastating missile attacks by Iran in Israel’s southern city of Arad, President Isaac Herzog conducted a site visit. He stated that such capabilities pose a significant challenge to regional security, not just a means of intimidation.
The missile strikes in Arad caused extensive destruction. During his visit, President Herzog emphasized that Iran had previously claimed it lacked missiles capable of reaching the United States. However, missiles launched from Diego Garcia have demonstrated that Iran possesses missiles with a range exceeding 4,000 kilometers (over 2,500 miles).
He remarked that Iran is utilizing its full capabilities, stating, “We must crush the head of this snake.”
During his tour of Arad, President Herzog noted, “This is the site of devastation caused by a half-ton missile from Iran.” He highlighted the indiscriminate nature of the Iranian regime, which threatens all civilians, regardless of their background. “We are here to show something different. We remain strong,” he asserted.
President Herzog reiterated, “It is essential to understand that Iran is now using all its capabilities. They previously denied having missiles that could reach the United States. The launch from Diego Garcia has clarified that they can strike targets over 4,000 kilometers away.”
He added, “This means they will deploy all their capabilities to intimidate us, but this approach is ineffective. It reveals the brutality of their regime and the threat it poses. We have been warning the world about this malevolent empire for over a generation. We must stop it. We must crush the head of this snake. That is why we are in this war.”
The President expressed confidence in the resilience of the people of Israel and Arad, stating, “This place will be completely rebuilt.”
Meanwhile, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on social media that following the initiation of “Operation Roaring Lion,” Iran launched a long-range missile capable of reaching approximately 4,000 kilometers.
The IDF warned that they have consistently stated that the Iranian regime is a global threat, with missiles that could reach cities like London, Paris, or Berlin.
In June 2025, during “Operation Rising Lion,” the IDF revealed that Iran was developing missiles with a range of 4,000 kilometers, posing a threat to several countries across Europe, Asia, and Africa. At that time, the Iranian regime also denied these claims.
