Kolkata, June 15: The formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been announced to probe alleged irregularities in donations at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. In light of this, ISKCON Vice President and spokesperson Radha Raman Das expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for initiating the investigation promptly.
He emphasized the importance of trustee oversight to ensure that not a single rupee from devotees goes astray. The funds collected should solely be utilized for the service of God and the promotion of Sanatan Dharma.
Radha Raman Das stated that people visit places of worship across India with deep faith, love, and respect. Devotees contribute with the hope that their donations will support temple management, the principles of Sanatan Dharma, and, most importantly, the service of God. It is crucial for all individuals overseeing temple operations, especially trustees, to prevent any misuse of donations. This remains a significant challenge within ISKCON as well.
He noted that the Ram Temple in Ayodhya has been built after nearly 500 years and serves as a focal point of love and faith for the people. While an investigation is underway regarding the ongoing donation dispute, he admitted to lacking detailed information on the matter.
Radha Raman Das commended Chief Minister Yogi for establishing the inquiry, expressing hope that every rupee donated to the Ram Temple will be used solely for temple activities and the advancement of Sanatan Dharma, rather than being misappropriated.
He acknowledged that there are individuals attempting to tarnish the reputation of Sanatan Dharma, continuously raising questions and creating narratives through films. Therefore, it is essential for the investigation to be completed swiftly.
According to the ISKCON Vice President, scriptures warn that those who steal from temples face severe consequences, including the risk of damnation. It is evident how serious this issue is, as devotees travel from afar, even from abroad, to contribute with sincere faith. Misusing these funds for personal gain or luxury is entirely unacceptable.
He also pointed out that in this age of Kali, many individuals lack genuine faith. It becomes challenging to discern whether a person is a true devotee. Hence, it is the trustees’ responsibility to maintain vigilance. The full use of technology is necessary to ensure that not a single rupee from devotees leaves the temple, with all funds directed towards God and Sanatan Dharma.
